Is there something else on the horizon that’s going to make that piece of technology obsolete quite quickly? Those are all important questions to ask. If there’s no confidence in the product and it isn’t popular or won’t be popular for long, you may not want to put your money into it. It could be a better idea to buy something else, or to wait and see what the economy does in regard to technology before you make a purchase.

Of course, if you absolutely need (not want) that particular piece of technology right at that moment and you can’t avoid purchasing it, what consumer confidence is doing isn’t really that important. Still, take the time to see what the competition has to offer, what value you’re getting for your money, and what would be the better choice for you when it comes to comparing products. That way you’ll have the highest chance of buying something that will still be valuable later on, instead of something you’ll end up regretting financially.
